Research

The V.O.G.W Foundation is doing research into all the personal backgrounds of these servicemen. Photos are collected and a reconstruction is made of their lives, their duties during the war and the circumstances of their deaths.

Education

For many years now the foundation has visited schools in the region to teach 10 to 12-year-old children about the servicemen who are buried in their village or town.

Lectures

The foundation organises lectures for adults about all 14 servicemen. This is mainly aimed at clubs for local history, homes for the elderly, etcetera.

Exhibitions

It is possible to have an exhibition organised by The V.O.G.W. Foundation with various subjects. These exhibitions often come with an information desk where it is possible for visitors to ask questions or leave remarks.

Publications

All results of the V.O.G.W. research have been published in two books which have been printed in Dutch. The foundation is working hard at having special editions published in English. V.O.G.W. also contributes to other magazines if requested and under certain conditions.

Hosting visitors

The V.O.G.W. Foundation often helps visitors like relatives and/or war veterans when they come over to visit the war graves and the region. Guidance and transport, hotel and restaurant bookings and other things are provided if required.

Maintenance

Volunteers of The V.O.G.W. Foundation visit the War Graves regularly to do additional maintenance.

Documentation group

Throughout the years the foundation has collected items about World War II, such as books, videos, models etcetera. We do this in order to be able to put together a proper exhibition or learning material. People from outside the foundation may send in requests to use our material as well. This service is particularly interesting to historians, museums etcetera, and to students who want to do a project about World War II.
